1. I learned the unbiased history of the Dokdo islets and who historically laid claim to the collection of islands. I learned that the issue of sovereignty is still much debated and that both ends of the political spectrums of both nations even debate amongst themselves. I thought the comparisons between the Dokdo islets, Kuril islands, and the Fiery Cross Reef were interesting to analyze.
