Although the memory of the Easy Sea controversy faded from my memory after leaving Korean School, I am very thankful to regain those memories from participating in this competition.
While the dispute of Dokdo Islands was not something I was familiar with upon entering the competition, I now have a new appreciation for the scholars from Korea who are working tirelessly to settle this debate. I am honored to receive this award and hope to continue participating in the effort to ascertain the ownership of the island.
